【4K/VLOG】吉野山中千本の一目千本桜 25′

桜が満開です。

去る4月9日、吉野山は中千本の一目千本桜を観にいきました。

朝イチ、7時に吉野山中千本駐車場に着きましたので、駐車場にもまだ余裕があり、混雑する前に撮影を済ませました。

敷島の大和心を人問はば朝日に匂ふ山桜花/本居宣長

吉野の桜は、和歌などを始め日本の文学でも事あるごとに描かれてきました。

この中千本一目桜が観れるのは、人形浄瑠璃や歌舞伎の代表的な演目「義経千本桜」のまさにその舞台であり、源義経が源頼朝に追わたときに静御前、武蔵坊弁慶とともに隠れた場所でもある吉水神社の境内にあります。

また、江戸時代の国学者であった本居宣長が大和心を詠んだ有名な歌がありますが、桜の種類は数多あれど吉野の桜は淡い色の小さな花びら、そしてその芳香と、格別の趣を感じますね。

意外なところで和歌山県出身の天才数学者・岡潔先生の著書「春宵十話」の中で、先生は数学も人間も情緒であるということを語られていますが桜については、”日本人が桜が好きなのは散り際が潔いからである”と述べられています。

確かに、私たちは日々の生活に追われて、どう生きるか？ということはもちろん、どう去るか、散るか、いわば入口は考えても出口に頭が回らずにのんべんだらりと時を過ごしてしまいがちです。

桜はちょうど満開ではありましたが、散りゆくものもチラホラありながら、残る桜も散る桜、散り際を意識しながら時を大切に使いたいとあらためて思いました。

The cherry blossoms of Yoshino have been depicted repeatedly in Japanese literature, including waka poetry and other classical works.

The “Nakasenbon Hitome Zakura” (the thousand-middle-trunk cherry viewed at a glance) can be seen precisely at the stage of the famous puppet theater and kabuki play Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura. It is located within the grounds of Yoshimizu Shrine, where Minamoto no Yoshitsune, pursued by Minamoto no Yoritomo, hid together with Shizuka Gozen and Musashibō Benkei.

Furthermore, there is a famous poem by Motoori Norinaga, a scholar of Kokugaku in the Edo period, celebrating the spirit of Yamato. Among the many varieties of cherry blossoms, those of Yoshino are distinguished by their pale, delicate petals and their fragrance, giving them a particularly refined charm.

Interestingly, in the book Shunshō Jūwa by the genius mathematician Okā Kiyoshi, who was born in Wakayama Prefecture, he writes that both mathematics and human beings are matters of sentiment. Regarding cherry blossoms, he states, “The reason Japanese people love cherry blossoms is because of the purity of their final moments when they fall.”

Indeed, in our daily lives, we are often so preoccupied with how to live that we rarely consider how to depart—how to fall gracefully. Cherry blossoms remind us of that.

The Yoshino cherry trees were in full bloom, yet some petals were already beginning to fall. Watching both the falling blossoms and those still standing, I was once again reminded of the importance of cherishing our time and being mindful of the fleeting beauty of each moment.
